The plus side

The Plus Side (+SIDE) was a visual campaign designed for kids diagnosed with ADHD or ADD, as well as caregivers, parents, and teachers as an ongoing modern resource. This university project was a large passion project for me due to my personal background and history with ADD, being diagnosed at age ten. As a young girl, I never had the comfortability to express myself or talk about my condition, as I was embarrassed and believed ADD was a stigma which made me weak, often understanding the diagnosis meaning that I was a “bad kid”. Now, as someone who has worked with kids from a variety of backgrounds as well as my own experience, I wanted to give kids and caregivers alike the resources and confidence to break the stigma surrounding ADHD and ADD. Using ideas from teaching art camp every summer for three years, I developed characters that could influence and support children’s mindset of their diagnosis. ADHD is a superpower. While this is a fictional project and brand, including the logo, billboard designs, and character designs, I would love to continue this project and possibly make it a real resource.
